Sandy Stec
You may not know her name, but you do know her voice! Sandy Stec is the radio personality “Sandy Rooney” of one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s hottest commercial radio stations. Whether it’s celebrity gossip, bay area news or musical tidbits, Sandy’s personable, down-to-earth nature makes the workday a whole lot more fun! But when the radio is “off,” that’s when Sandy is really on. When looking at her “youngish” face, it’s easy to imagine Sandy Stec is too sweet to be a heavy hitter. Wrong! As soon as she cracks the mic, her sarcasm, sense of irony, and crisp sassiness tell a completely different story. In addition, her fascination with cultures enables her to mimic accents and dialects to a tee. Her impressions are, hands down, some of the funniest skits imaginable. Throughout her comedy career audiences have been introduced to “Alejandro- the Latin Lover” among many other characters who have made an impact in her life. Sandy is an seasoned entertainment professional. She has hosted sporting events at the HP Pavilion for crowds of 15,000; emceed concerts, hosted auction and award banquets, and produced regional ad campaigns for nationally recognized companies like Chevy’s, Blockbuster, and American Wireless. She also has extensive voice-over experience in radio, TV, and CD-rom, and was the star of Cinnequest Film Festival’s documentary “Funny Grrlz” of 2003.
